Egon Frey correspondence, 1919-1967.

Correspondence consists of thirteen letters to Egon Frey from Hans Habe, Ernst Jünger, Thomas Mann, Arthur Schnitzler, and Alma Seidler, along with four third-party letters: one from Hermann Hesse to Eugen Zeller, accompanying a typescript carbon draft of a poem by Hans Niekrawietz entitled "Der Dichter"; one from Ernst Jünger to Mrs. "Lilly" Frey; and two from Thomas Mann to "Labatt" and an unidentified recipient. Letters to Frey, mostly brief, express gratitude and admiration and mention work and travel.

Olga Schnitzler (née Gussmann; 1882-1970) was Arthur's wife; they were married in 1903 and divorced in 1921. Arthur and Olga Schnitzler were good friends of Alma Mahler and Franz Werfel since at least 1921; Alma recounts numerous anecdotes about Schnitzler in her memoir Mein Leben.
